LOS ANGELES

Concert promoter and ticket-seller Live Nation Entertainment Inc. said Monday it was partnering with recording company Universal Music Group to help create and sell concert ticket packages that bundle in merchandise for Universal artists.

The partnership will also explore other marketing opportunities for musicians.

The joint venture will be run by Front Line Management Group, the artist management division of Live Nation that is headed by longtime Eagles manager Irving Azoff. Universal Music is a division of France's Vivendi SA.

Universal artists include The Who, Roger Daltry, Robert Plant, ZZ Top and others.

Live Nation shares fell 17 cents, or 2 percent, to $8.35 on Monday amid a nearly 1 percent decline in the Dow Jones industrial average.
