The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is hosting the 16th Annual Childrenâs Festival Nov. 10-13, 2011. They recently had a change in a performer for the festival. Lucas Miller will now be entertaining all four days.
Lucas Miller, the "Singing Zoologist," recognized as an "American Masterpiece" by the National Endowment for the Arts, blends music, puppetry, projected images and "zoological, stand-up comedy" to teach about monarch butterflies, wetlands, animal defenses, endangered species, symbiosis and other nature-related topics. He is described as "Dr. Doolittle, Bruce Springsteen and Robin Williams all rolled up in one.â He delights children and parents alike with his dynamic stage presence and songs like "The Anaconda La Bamba," "A Snake's NOT Slimy" and "Gotta Take Care of the Hive."
Other performers at the festival include Thomas & FriendsTM Sing Along Adventure, STAR TREK LIVE and Richard Rennerâs REcycle Show.

Tickets for the 16th Annual Childrenâs Festival are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. This admission fee includes every show and activity for the day. Tickets can be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, or the day of the event. Children age 2 and under are free. Picnics are welcome, but beverages can not be brought into the venue.
Preferred parking is available in the on-site Town Center Garage, located along Six Pines Drive. Parking is $5 per vehicle for this and most performing arts events. Tickets for on-site parking can be purchased in advance at all Ticketmaster locations and The Pavilion Box. Guests also may park in any of the five free parking lots on the southwest side of The Pavilion. The free, color-coded lots are connected to The Pavilion by corresponding pathways with signs leading across The Waterway.
