Live Nation launches Watershed fest: Three-day country festival to hit ...
By Christopher MorrisStepping into a genre arena already profitably occupied by Goldenvoice's Stagecoach, Live Nation Entertainment has announced its inaugural marquee country effort, Watershed Music Festival.
Co-promoted by Brian O'Connell, Watershed will be mounted Aug. 3-5 at LNE's 25,000-capacity Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA, outside of Seattle. First-year headliners will include Dierks Bentley, Kix Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Dwight Yoakam.O'Connell said, "We wanted to create something that didn't exist, from the caliber of artists to the camping and the atmosphere."
Announcement comes on opening day of the sixth Stagecoach at Indio's Empire Polo Club. AEG unit Goldenvoice's 2012 event, co-promoted with the Messina Group, boasts Lambert, Shelton, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Alabama among its headliners. Festival runs through Sunday.
Like Stagecoach, Watershed will feature camping options.
Tickets for Watershed, starting at $90, go on sale May 5 via Ticketmaster.
